Shikhar Dhawan, a former Indian cricket opener, has signed up for Legends League Cricket (LLC) just days after announcing his retirement from both international and domestic cricket. Dhawan, widely celebrated for his explosive batting and vibrant demeanor, embarks on a new chapter in his illustrious career by joining the league.
Expressing his excitement, Dhawan said in an LLC press release, 'Taking on this new chapter with Legends League Cricket feels like the ideal progression after my retirement. My body is still conditioned for the game's demands, and although I am at ease with my decision, cricket remains an inseparable part of me. I am eager to regroup with my cricketing friends and continue to entertain my fans while creating new memories.'
Dhawan's impressive career includes accolades such as Player of the Tournament in the 2013 ICC Champions Trophy and amassing over 6,793 runs in ODIs with an average of 44.1. He also left a significant mark in the Indian Premier League (IPL). Legends League co-founder Raman Raheja welcomed Dhawan, stating, 'We are thrilled to have Shikhar Dhawan join us. Other cricketing stars like Aaron Finch, Martin Guptill, and Hashim Amla have also transitioned to the LLC after retirement.
