South Africa Recalls Muthusamy for Bangladesh Tour; Security Assured

South Africa has recalled all-rounder Senuran Muthusamy to their 15-player squad for the upcoming two-test tour of Bangladesh. The 30-year-old last played for the national team in March 2023 and now joins Keshav Maharaj and Dane Piedt as part of the specialist spin trio.

South Africa's coach, Shukri Conrad, expressed confidence in the selected spinners, stating, 'We have three frontline spinners and all of them have the ability to step up at any time they are needed. This is a great chance for someone like Senuran, who has potential to make a mark with both bat and ball.'

Uncapped batter Matthew Breetzke has also been included in the squad. Cricket South Africa confirmed the tour will go ahead following a thorough security review, despite recent political unrest in Bangladesh which led to the ousting of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The first test is scheduled to take place in Dhaka from Oct. 21-25, followed by the second in Chattogram from Oct. 29-Nov. 2.
