The Long Beach Yacht Club is set to host the 60th Congressional Cup from April 30 to May 4, 2025. Known as a premier match racing event, it attracts top sailors globally. Chris Poole recently won the event's latest edition, maintaining his lead in the World Match Racing Tour standings.

The Long Beach Yacht Club has announced its plans for the 60th Congressional Cup, scheduled from April 30 to May 4, 2025. This prestigious event has been a fixture in the sailing world since 1965, earning its reputation as America's longest-running match racing competition.

The Congressional Cup has seen champions like Ted Turner, Dennis Conner, and Francesco Bruni don the celebrated Crimson Blazer, with the event serving as a crucial platform for both seasoned and emerging sailors. "The Congressional Cup not only draws top global talent but also acts as a stepping stone for up-and-coming sailors," said incoming Commodore Lisa Meier.

This year's edition witnessed Chris Poole's Riptide Racing team clinching their second consecutive title, beating Ian Williams in the final, which also marked the start of the 2024 World Match Racing Tour. Poole currently leads the tour standings as he heads into the upcoming Bermuda Gold Cup and the final event in Shenzhen from December 10-15.
