Report: Saints sign DT Walker to replace Rankins
The New Orleans Saints signed free agent defensive tackle Tyrunn Walker ahead of the NFC Championship Game against the Los Angeles Rams to replace injured defensive tackle Sheldon Rankins, the NFL Network reported Tuesday.
The Saints placed Rankins on injured reserve after he ruptured his Achilles in Sunday's divisional-round victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.
Walker, 28, began his career in New Orleans as an undrafted free agent and played 23 games with the Saints in the 2013 and 2014 seasons. Walker was with the Los Angeles Rams last season, appearing in all 17 games.
Walker has 4.5 career sacks in 58 NFL games with the Saints, Detroit Lions and Rams.
The Saints battle the Rams on Sunday for a spot in the Super Bowl.
