A bomb scare disrupted the Arun Jaitley Stadium in central Delhi on Friday morning, following an email threat. Authorities conducted thorough security checks, which revealed no threat, confirming it as a hoax.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (Central) M Harsha Vardhan assured the public, stating that despite the false alarm, police are conducting further inquiries. Security has been heightened as a precautionary measure.
Delhi Police teams, supported by the Bomb Disposal Squad and dog units, promptly inspected the stadium after the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA) relayed the emailed threat. DDCA Secretary Ashok Sharma emphasized the importance of protocol and safety, asserting that diligent inspections yielded no suspicious findings.
