India delivered a remarkable performance at the ISSF World Cup in Munich, securing a commendable third-place finish behind shooting giants China and Norway. The competition, which took place from June 8-15, 2025, at the historic Olympic Shooting Range, witnessed India clinching two gold and two bronze medals.
K. Sultan Singh, Secretary General of the National Rifle Association of India, expressed his delight with the squad's performance, highlighting the depth in Indian shooting as players like Suruchi Phogat showcased consistent brilliance. Phogat captured her third consecutive ISSF World Cup gold in the women's 10m air pistol, marking her as India's emerging star.
India's medal haul was bolstered by Arya Rajesh Borse and Arjun Babuta's spectacular win in the 10m air rifle mixed team final, overpowering Chinese world record holders Sheng Lihao and Wang Zifei. Veteran shooters Elavenil Valarivan and Sift Kaur Samra fortified India's status with bronze finishes, setting new records in the process.
