Prominent athletes, including former Olympic shooter Abhinav Bindra and acclaimed badminton player PV Sindhu, led the Olympic Day 2025 celebrations on Monday, underscoring the significance of sports in uniting and inspiring people worldwide. Held annually on June 23, Olympic Day commemorates the founding of the modern Olympic Games in 1894 in Paris. Its primary purpose is to promote global participation in sports, irrespective of age, gender, or ability.

This year's celebrations aligned with the International Olympic Committee's Let's Move initiative, promoting physical activity. Bindra praised outgoing Olympic president Thomas Bach for his leadership, and expressed confidence in incoming president Kirsty Coventry, lauding her inspirational career as an athlete and leader.
