Indian golfers made impressive starts at the US Kids World Championship, currently underway at Pinehurst Village. Bengaluru's Vedika Bhansali delivered a remarkable performance, securing a bogey-free 3-under 33 round, tying for second place with five others. Only one shot behind the leader, Audrey Zhang of the US, Vedika's consistency was notable.
Meanwhile, Mohali's Ojaswini Saraswat, a former medallist at the championship, finished her opening day tied-ninth in the Girls 12 category with a 2-under score. Having been a runner-up last year in Girls 11, Ojaswini is eager to outperform her previous achievements.
In the Boys categories, Chandigarh's Nihal Cheema, previously a runner-up in Boys 7, had a challenging day with one birdie against two bogeys and ended tied-12th in Boys 8. Overall, Indian players demonstrated considerable potential and skill on the first day of the prestigious tournament.
