Kashmir's Rising Stars: Grassroots Talent Identification Sparks Hope

During her visit to Kashmir, Minister of State for Youth Affairs and Sports Raksha Nikhil Khadse launched a Grassroots Talent Identification camp focused on athletics and volleyball at the University of Kashmir. Her visit coincided with the Khelo India Water Sports festival at Dal Lake, featuring sports such as rowing and kayaking.
The talent camp drew over 150 participants from varied districts like Pulwama, Budgam, and Ganderbal, emphasizing the potential within the region. An expert team conducted tests including sprints and the Cooper Test to evaluate physical prowess and athletic skills.
Minister Khadse promised to back young athletes fully, with those selected progressing to advanced training under the Sports Authority of India's programs. She highlighted the vast talent in Kashmir, aiming to pave the path for future champions.
