Ranjana Yadav added a silver medal to India's tally by delivering a commendable performance in the girl's 5000m walk at the Asian Youth Games held at the Bahrain National Stadium on Thursday. Yadav finished the race in 23 minutes 25.88 seconds, following the gold medalist Liu Shiyi from China, who clocked in at 24:15.27.
Completing the podium, Korea's Jeong Chaeyeon secured the bronze with a timing of 25:26.93. This silver medal marks India's first in athletics at the AYG, boosting the country's medal count to two silvers and four bronzes overall.
India's other achievements at the games include one silver and two bronze medals in kurash, along with two bronze medals in taekwondo, showcasing the nation's diverse athletic prowess across different sports.
