David Puig achieved a landmark victory at the Australian PGA Championship, marking his first win on the DP World Tour. His five-under par round of 66 led him to triumph by two shots, securing an 18-under par total at the Royal Queensland season opener.

The 23-year-old Spaniard reflected on his achievement, overcoming previous close finishes to finally clinch a significant win. "It's unbelievable, especially winning here in Australia," Puig commented, expressing his excitement at the milestone.

Puig's consistent performance allowed him to distance himself early in the final round. Despite a strong finish by China's Ding Wenyi, Puig maintained his lead. Notable performances from Marc Leishman and Nick Voke rounded off the top standings.
