Indian Sporting Icons to Lead at 2023 Asian Games

Sahdev Yadav, not only the treasurer of the Indian Olympic Association but also the head of India's national weightlifting body, has been appointed as the Chef de Mission for the upcoming Asian Games in 2023.

The Games are scheduled to take place in Aichi-Nagoya, Japan, from September 23 to October 8. Accompanying Yadav as the deputy Chef de Mission is Achanta Sharath Kamal, heralded as India's greatest-ever men's table tennis player.

The diverse committee of 15 is under the stewardship of the sports secretary with the Indian Olympic Association (IOA) President PT Usha as co-chair. It includes notable figures like London Olympic medalist Gagan Narang and former hockey player Viren Rasquinha, ensuring a robust oversight of India's sporting endeavors.
