Kriechmayr Claims Weather-Affected Victory

In a weather-impacted World Cup super-G race at Beaver Creek, Austria's Vincent Kriechmayr emerged victorious on Friday. Despite dominating the event with an early impressive run, he acknowledged the victory felt unsatisfactory due to worsening conditions affecting subsequent racers, including Swiss contender Marco Odermatt.

Initially faced with potentially having results nullified after a crash involving Swiss skier Franjo von Allmen, the race eventually concluded with 31 participants. Kriechmayr clocked a time of 1:06.77 to outpace Norway's Fredrik Moeller and fellow Austrian Raphael Haaser.

This marks Kriechmayr's second triumph at the venue and 19th World Cup victory overall, expressing challenges in maintaining past performances. Despite conditions hindering his pursuit of another win, Odermatt remains the front-runner in the season's overall standings.
