The Alfred Dunhill Championship has been reduced to 54 holes after severe weather conditions forced a suspension of play on Saturday. Heavy rain and flooding turned the Royal Johannesburg course unplayable, with players unable to complete more than six holes in the third round.
Tournament Director David Williams announced that despite efforts to continue, the course's lower-lying sections became unmanageable, leading to multiple suspensions. "It's tough when you have to do this," he stated. The competition is set to restart at 6:30 a.m. on Sunday, with several games yet to tee off.
The final round will see Spain's Eugenio Chacarra resuming with a two-stroke lead at 15-under par. Close competitors include South Africa's Jayden Schaper and Branden Grace, along with England's John Parry, who are trailing closely on the leaderboard.
