Wicketkeeper-batter Abhigyan Kundu etched his name in cricket history on Tuesday by scoring the first-ever double century for India in Youth ODIs. Kundu achieved this feat against Malaysia during the U-19 Asia Cup match.
The 17-year-old, batting at No. 5, delivered an unbeaten 209 off just 125 balls, comprising 19 fours and seven sixes. His remarkable innings follows South African Jorich Van Schalkwyk, who scored 215 against Zimbabwe earlier this year.
Kundu's innings propelled India U-19 to post a massive 408 for seven while batting first. Previously in the tournament, Vaibhav Sooryavanshi had scored 171 off 95 balls against the UAE, marking the ninth-highest score in the format.
