In a shrewd move during the Indian Premier League (IPL) mini auction of 2026, Delhi Capitals (DC) secured South African cricketing talent David Miller for a modest Rs 2 crores. Noted former Indian cricketer Anil Kumble has hailed this acquisition, emphasizing the wealth of experience Miller brings to the team.

Kumble highlighted that DC's middle order is significantly bolstered with Miller's addition alongside his compatriot, Tristan Stubbs, a partnership poised to address the team's previous shortcomings. "Experience is something the Delhi Capitals clearly lacked," Kumble remarked, classifying the acquisition as a 'smart move' and 'steal' that outflanked other potential contenders like Gujarat Titans.

Miller, a seasoned player with impressive T20 international stats, appeared for various IPL teams such as PBKS, RR, GT, and LSG, before landing with DC. Despite a lackluster stint last season where he only garnered 153 runs, his individual capacity to stabilize and energize the middle order could be a game-changer for Delhi Capitals.
