In a commanding display, the Delhi Dangal Warriors clinched a 6-3 victory over Maharashtra Kesari in their opening match of the Pro Wrestling League 2026 on Friday. The highlight of the match was 17-year-old Saarika's brilliant 7-0 triumph over 2024 Paris Olympics silver medallist Guzman Lopez Yusneylis, marking the day's biggest upset.

The contest began with Maharashtra taking an early lead through Manisha Bhanvala's disciplined 6-0 win in the women's 57kg category. However, Delhi's momentum surged with Shubham Kaushik's riveting 12-10 comeback win in the men's 57kg bout, thanks to his decisive four-point takedowns during the Power Minute.

Despite Maharashtra regaining ground with Robert Baran's performance, Delhi showcased undeniable depth and stamina.
