According to organisers, since the awards' debut in Madrid in 2024, the city has significantly benefited from the Laureus Sport for Good's initiatives. The 2026 awards will once again draw together the global sporting community, along with prominent figures from entertainment, culture, and fashion. The revered Laureus statuette will be presented in seven major categories.
Isabel Díaz Ayuso, President of the Community of Madrid, expressed enthusiasm for another sport-filled year and highlighted anticipated events like the EuroBasket and UEFA Champions League Final.
