Emma Finucane has shattered the women's 200m flying time trial world record at the European Track Championships in Turkey. The Briton clocked a remarkable 9.759 seconds, besting the previous record by China's Yuan Liying by 0.017 seconds.

At the same event, fellow Brit Sophie Capewell finished in 9.982 seconds, highlighting the significance of Finucane's achievement. The 23-year-old champion is now part of an elite trio of women who have broken the 10-second barrier.

Finucane, also a renowned sprinter and keirin bronze medalist, expressed her excitement, stating, "I set the stakes high and executed my plan perfectly. Seeing 9.759 on the board is unbelievable."
