In a display of resilience, Alishan Sharafu, a promising young cricketer, scored 45 to help the UAE post a total of 122 for 6 against South Africa in their T20 World Cup match on Wednesday.
Despite being eliminated from the Super 8s contention, UAE showed determination at the crease. Sharafu's contribution came off 38 balls, featuring five boundaries and a six before South African pacer Anrich Nortje dismissed him. Nortje ended with figures of 2 for 28. Meanwhile, Corbin Bosch was the standout bowler for South Africa, claiming three wickets for just 12 runs.
The result saw the Proteas, alongside New Zealand, secure a spot in the Super 8s, demonstrating their dominance in the group stage.
