In an electrifying display of batting, Abhishek Sharma hit a blistering 18-ball fifty, positioning India at a commanding 127/1 after 10 overs against New Zealand in the T20 World Cup final on Sunday.
Although Sharma was dismissed for 52 off 21 balls, his fiery innings laid a solid foundation. Sanju Samson, in top form, continued to score freely, amassing an unbeaten 48 off 30 balls, alongside Ishank Kishan who added 20 runs off just 10 deliveries.
After winning the toss, New Zealand's captain Mitchell Santner opted to field first, making a strategic change by replacing all-rounder Luke McConchie with pacer Jacob Duffy. India retained its victorious eleven from the semifinal against England.
