The Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced a major increase in prize money for the continent's leading club competitions, with raises up to 100% for the season. According to CAF president Patrice Motsepe, this increase will enhance the global competitiveness of African teams.

The total annual prize money for African clubs has increased from $18.8 million in 2021 to over $42 million.
