Rising Stars Shine at Augusta National Women's Amateur

Maria Jose Marin of Arkansas and South Korea's Soomin Oh dazzled the field in the opening round of the Augusta National Women's Amateur with a 7-under 65, sharing the lead in a day marked by perfect weather conditions at Champions Retreat.
Not far behind, Asterisk Talley, a Californian teenager with an impressive track record, pulled off an incredible greenside bunker shot for an eagle on the par-5 18th hole. She ended her round with a solid 66, keeping her in contention.
With eight players posting 67 or lower, the competition is fierce as 31 golfers broke par. The tournament progresses, and all 72 competitors will play at the Masters' home on Friday, with the top 30 and ties moving on to Saturday's decisive final round.
