Spanish cyclist Jaume Guardeno is currently in intensive care following a serious collision with a vehicle while training, as confirmed by his team, Caja Rural-Seguros RGA, on Thursday.
The accident occurred on Tuesday. The 23-year-old cyclist, who previously finished 14th in last year's Vuelta a Espana, was quickly transported to the hospital by helicopter, according to a team statement.
"His condition is being closely monitored," the team added. "We extend all our support and strength to Jaume and his family during this challenging time, hoping for his speedy and complete recovery."
