Falcons sign OL Sambrailo to three-year extension
The Atlanta Falcons have agreed to a three-year extension with offensive lineman Ty Sambrailo, the team announced Tuesday. Sambrailo, 26, started the last four games of the 2018 season for Atlanta, playing both left guard and right tackle.
His contract was set to expire next month. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed. "We are excited to bring Ty back as a part of our brotherhood," Falcons coach Dan Quinn said. "His versatility has proven to be one of his many strengths. We look forward to him being a valuable piece of the offensive line."
Originally a second-round pick by Denver in 2015, the Broncos traded the 6-foot-5, 315-pound Sambrailo to the Falcons prior to the 2017 season. In four NFL seasons, he has played in 44 games with 13 starts. In two seasons with Atlanta, he has only been penalized three times -- including zero flags for holding.
