The sprint started under ominous clouds, leading to intermittent rain that caused several riders to crash. Many participants, anticipating worsening conditions, opted for bike changes to ensure their machines were equipped with wet-weather tires.
Marquez's teammate, Francesco Bagnaia, secured second, granting Ducati a one-two finish in Jerez. Franco Morbidelli from VR46 Racing impressively claimed third, having started from 18th on the grid. Among those affected by the weather, championship leader Marco Bezzecchi crashed, while Jorge Martin retired due to a brake disc issue.
