Jammu and Kashmir's Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, emphasized the role of sports as a catalyst for social change during the national 'Chintan Shivir' on sports at SKICC. The event, spanning three days and organized by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, aims to address key policy challenges and foster collaboration between the Centre and States/UTs to transform India into a global sporting powerhouse.

Sinha pointed out that true sporting potential is often discovered in small towns and communities rather than elite academies. He stressed the importance of developing a sports culture from the grassroots level, integrating it into everyday life. The Lieutenant Governor also called for comprehensive support for physical education teachers, urging that they be valued and equipped to nurture young talent.
