Rugby Premier League Debuts Women's Edition

The Rugby Premier League (RPL) will host its first women's edition in June, featuring four franchise teams. The event runs from June 16-28 at Hyderabad's Gachibowli Stadium. Organised by GMR Sports and Rugby India, the league builds on its successful inaugural men's edition from the previous year.

The Rugby Premier League is set to make history with the launch of its inaugural women's edition this June, as announced by the organizers on Monday. Four franchise teams will compete, with matches scheduled to take place from June 16 to 28 at the Gachibowli Stadium in Hyderabad.

The league will feature women's teams representing four of the six men's franchises that played in the 2025 RPL. These include Chennai Bulls, Delhi Redz, Mumbai Dreamers, and Kolkata Banga Tigers. The player draft and auction for both men's and women's teams are slated for April 30 in Hyderabad.

Rugby India President Rahul Bose expressed excitement over the new tournament, highlighting the growth of Women's 7s rugby globally. This edition builds on the success of last year's debut men's season, further cemented by the support of GMR Sports and other partners.
