In a significant breach of IPL code of conduct, Rajasthan Royals captain Riyan Parag faces a 25% match fee deduction after being caught vaping on camera during a match against Punjab Kings in Mullanpur. The incident has sparked widespread condemnation across social media platforms.

The match umpires, Tanmay Srivastava and Nitin Menon, did not initially report the incident. However, visual evidence prompted match referee Amit Sharma to find Parag guilty of a Level 1 offence under IPL guidelines. Such offences result in a match fee penalty and a demerit point.

The Indian government banned e-cigarettes in 2019, making Parag's actions not only a sports regulation breach but also contrary to national law. This controversy follows a previous incident where the Royals' manager was fined for protocol breaches earlier this season.
