RCB's Promising Start Crumbles Under GT's Bowling Onslaught in IPL 2026
In a dramatic IPL 2026 encounter, Royal Challengers Bengaluru's strong start was thwarted by a disciplined Gujarat Titans bowling attack, falling from 27/0 to being all out for 155 in 19.2 overs. Virat Kohli's brief blitz was not enough to save the defending champions from a dramatic collapse.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru faced a crushing defeat against Gujarat Titans in their IPL 2026 clash, after a promising beginning fizzled out in the face of a strategic bowling assault. Despite a brisk start spearheaded by Virat Kohli, RCB faltered and crumbled, collapsing from 27/0 to a total of 155 by the end of their innings.
Initially, RCB seemed poised for a sizeable total, with Kohli aggressively attacking GT's pacer Kagiso Rabada, amassing five consecutive boundaries in the second over. RCB's fortunes rapidly dwindled when Mohammed Siraj removed the opener Jacob Bethell for just 5 in the following over.
RCB's hopes further diminished as their lineup crumbled under pressure. Contributions from Romario Shepherd and Venkatesh Iyer couldn't stem the collapse as RCB were bowled out in 19.2 overs. GT's bowlers shared the spoils, with Jason Holder and Rashid Khan claiming two wickets each, and Arshad Khan taking three wickets for a tidy 22 runs.
