Former Indian cricket captain and coach, Rahul Dravid, has ventured into European cricket by becoming a co-owner of the Dublin franchise in the forthcoming European Twenty20 League (ETPL). The 53-year-old joins an Indian consortium that has acquired the team set to launch in September.

The league, which includes teams from Belfast, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Rotterdam, and Amsterdam, aims to bolster cricket's popularity across Europe. The Dublin Guardians, as the Irish capital's side will be known, marks Dravid's entry into the European cricket scene, emphasizing the importance of nurturing future cricket talent.

Prominent figures in cricket, including Chris Gayle and Faf du Plessis, are part of this cricketing venture. Supported by the cricket boards of Ireland, Scotland, and the Netherlands, the ETPL's founding group also includes Bollywood icon Abhishek Bachchan.
