Crisis in Sri Lanka Cricket: ICC Intervenes

An ICC delegation, including a top BCCI official, is visiting Sri Lanka following the government's appointment of an interim committee to manage Sri Lanka Cricket after its president's resignation. The committee aims to introduce reforms, although reasons for the former president's resignation remain undisclosed.

In a significant development, an International Cricket Council (ICC) delegation, joined by a senior official from the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), is heading to Sri Lanka. This move follows the Sri Lankan government's decision to establish an interim committee to oversee the nation's cricket operations.

The interim panel was formed after the resignation of Sri Lanka Cricket (SLC) president Shammi Silva and his executive team. Sports Minister Sunil Kumara Gamage named the new panel, which includes renowned former international cricketers like Kumar Sangakkara and Roshan Mahanama.

The primary goal of this interim committee is to implement reforms within SLC. Despite these changes, the reasons behind the Silva-led committee's sudden resignation remain undisclosed, raising questions about the transparency of the move.
