Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath applauded Prime Minister Narendra Modi for fostering a thriving sports culture across India. He cited upcoming international events, like the 2030 Commonwealth Games in Ahmedabad, as morale boosters for local athletes.
Speaking at the foundation laying ceremony for an international cricket stadium in Gorakhpur, Adityanath emphasized the importance of infrastructure in sports development. The stadium, occupying 46 acres of land, is being constructed with assistance from the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas.
The chief minister also highlighted initiatives like the 'Khelo India' and 'Fit India' movements, aimed at increasing India's global sports participation. As part of the government's commitment, new sports facilities and job opportunities for medal-winning athletes are being created across Uttar Pradesh.
