Pat Cummins showcased his exceptional control and skill with the ball, taking three crucial wickets as Chennai Super Kings managed a competitive score of 180 for seven against Sunrisers Hyderabad in their IPL encounter on Monday.
Cummins, Hyderabad's captain, was instrumental in pegging back CSK's innings, ensuring they couldn't dominate after electing to bat first. However, Sanju Samson provided a blazing start for CSK, accumulating 17 runs off Nitish Kumar Reddy's first over, followed by a series of fours off Praful Hinge.
The middle order, featuring standout performances from Dewald Brevis and Shivam Dube, attempted a recovery, adding crucial runs. Brevis, in particular, impressed with his highest IPL score of the season, though ultimately, CSK fell short of their 200-run target.
