French teenager Moise Kouame made a remarkable debut at the French Open on Tuesday, defeating former U.S. Open winner Marin Cilic in straight sets, 7-6(4) 6-2 6-1, and becoming the youngest man in 17 years to win a Grand Slam main-draw match.

The 17-year-old, who was given a wildcard to participate, displayed remarkable composure and skill on Court Simonne Mathieu, outplaying Cilic, who is 20 years his senior and previously ranked as world number three.

Kouame, ranked 318th, strategically capitalized on his speed and finesse, impressing the crowd, and proceeded without conceding a serve break. The win adds to his burgeoning career, which has already seen success at the Miami Masters.
