RCB Crushes Gujarat Titans to Seal Second Consecutive IPL Final Spot
Royal Challengers Bengaluru secured a place in their fifth IPL final with a commanding 92-run victory over Gujarat Titans. Captain Rajat Patidar led the charge with an unbeaten 93, and a fierce bowling attack dismantled the Titans' lineup, setting up a massive target that proved insurmountable.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru stormed into their second consecutive IPL final after overpowering Gujarat Titans by 92 runs. The defending champions were driven by captain Rajat Patidar's explosive performance as he scored an unbeaten 93 off just 33 deliveries, propelling RCB to a formidable total of 254 for five.
After being put in to bat, RCB's innings gained momentum with Patidar smashing nine sixes and five fours, capitalizing on two early dropped catches. Gujarat's chase faltered as RCB's bowlers, led by a devastating pace attack, reduced the Titans to 51 for five, ultimately bowling them out for 162.
Key moments included Bhuvneshwar Kumar's (2/28) brilliance with the ball, wrecking GT's top order, and Josh Hazlewood and Rasikh Salam further restricting the Titans. Aided by Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatiya's efforts, GT succumbed under scoreboard pressure.
Meanwhile, RCB's spirited start, marked by quick contributions from Venkatesh Iyer and Virat Kohli, set the stage. Although GT fought back through middle-overs bowling discipline, they could not contain Patidar, whose commanding knock ensured RCB reached the fifth IPL final in franchise history.
