Lionel Scaloni, the coach of Argentina, unveiled the team's roster for the 2026 World Cup, allaying fears about injuries by including captain Lionel Messi. Despite muscle strain concerns, Messi leads the lineup aiming for a consecutive title victory.
The Argentine Football Association's announcement highlighted that 17 players from the squad were part of the winning team in the previous World Cup. Among them, goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez and defender Cristian Romero, both recovering from injuries, are confirmed to join. The team, world champions also in 1978 and 1986, will face Algeria in their opening match of Group J.
