The United States men's national team is gearing up for the World Cup using a newly established $250 million training facility, which spans 200 acres and features 19 fields located just south of Atlanta. This comes as a significant upgrade from past conditions that players like Jozy Altidore experienced, highlighting years of progression in American soccer infrastructure.
Arthur Blank, owner of Atlanta Falcons and a Major League Soccer team, contributed a leading $50 million for the construction of this modern complex, which now serves as the base for all 27 US national soccer teams. The facility features an array of fields, including grass, artificial turf, and indoor options, alongside extensive amenities such as meeting rooms, locker rooms, and a gym.
USSF CEO JT Batson noted excitement for the comprehensive facilities, referencing great care in design by studying top training centers worldwide like England's St George's Park. The strategic location near Trilith Studios, a rapidly developing area, positions the national team for optimal training and development, creating opportunities for future generations of players to aspire to.
