Hundreds Arrested Amid Clashes After PSG's Champions League Victory

Following Paris Saint-Germain's victory in the Champions League, French police have detained 780 individuals due to violent disturbances that broke out across Paris and other cities. According to Interior Minister Laurent Nunez, 57 officers sustained minor injuries during the unrest, which involved fans setting off fires and vandalizing shops.

The disturbances concentrated around the Champs-Elysees and the Parc des Princes stadium, though Nunez assured that the situation was mostly under control. Despite sporadic incidents of vandalism in around 15 cities, planned celebrations at the Champ de Mars in Paris will proceed with strong police presence to deter any potential violence. The PSG team is also scheduled to meet President Emmanuel Macron.

The celebrations turned chaotic with cars being set on fire and shops vandalized. There was also a significant incident involving a driver losing control and crashing into a restaurant terrace, injuring two people. Authorities are determined to maintain order as the celebrations continue.

This recent celebration follows past instances of unrest, like last year when PSG fans caused similar disturbances leading to several hundred arrests.
