JDT Sets World Record: Unbeaten in 109 League Matches

Johor Darul Ta'zim (JDT), a Malaysian football powerhouse, made headlines by setting a new world record with 109 consecutive unbeaten league matches. Their triumph came in the form of a 3-0 victory over Kuching City in the Charity Shield, propelling them into new highs in the Malaysian Super League.

With this win, JDT outstripped Ivory Coast's ASEC Mimosas' 108-match unbeaten streak that spanned from 1989 to 1994. JDT's coach, Xisco Munoz, acknowledged the difficulty of achieving such a record in modern football, citing the team's consistent performance since April 2021.

The Southern Tigers, pursuing their 13th consecutive league title, reportedly have dropped points in only one league game per year over the last three seasons. As they gear up for their next match against Kelantan Red Warrior FC, anticipation mounts on whether they can extend this unparalleled streak.
