Norris signs minor league contract with Blue Jays

Right-handed reliever Bud Norris, who appeared in 64 games last season for the St. Louis Cardinals, has signed a minor league contract with the Toronto Blue Jays, the team announced Wednesday. The team will have Norris in its major league camp in spring training.

Norris, 34, was 3-6 with 28 saves and a 3.59 ERA in 57 2/3 innings for the Cardinals last season. He struck out 67 and walked 21. Norris has pitched for seven teams in his 10-year career in the majors, with almost all of his appearances in the past two seasons coming out of the bullpen. He is 67-90 in his career (188 starts) with a 4.45 ERA.
