The Ravens reached a two-year agreement Thursday to keep quarterback Robert Griffin III in Baltimore, the team announced. Pending the results of a physical, the 29-year-old veteran will continue his role as a backup and mentor to Lamar Jackson.
Financial terms of the deal were not immediately available. Griffin earned $1.1 million in his first season with Baltimore in 2018. Griffin, the 2012 Offensive Rookie of the Year, played in three games for the Ravens and completed 2 of 6 passes for 21 yards.
Griffin won a Heisman Trophy at Baylor and was the No. 2 overall pick by Washington in the 2012 NFL Draft. In three seasons with the Redskins (2012-14) and one with the Cleveland Browns (2016), he passed for 8,983 yards and 42 touchdowns and rushed for 1,670 yards and 10 scores.
