Cycling-Ackermann wins stage five of Giro d'Italia

German national champion Pascal Ackermann won a cold and wet fifth stage of the Giro d'Italia from Frascati to Terracina in a sprint finish on Wednesday.

Slovenian Primoz Roglic retained the overall leader's pink jersey while injured 2017 champion Tom Dumoulin abandoned the race shortly after the start of the 140km stage after a crash on Tuesday.
