Atlanta Braves outfielder Nick Markakis was reinstated from the 10-day injured list prior to Friday's road game against the Washington Nationals. Markakis was inserted in the Braves' starting lineup for the series opener after missing 43 games with a fractured left wrist.

The 35-year-old Markakis sustained the injury after being hit by a pitch from Philadelphia Phillies left-hander Cole Irvin on July 26. Markakis is batting .284 with nine homers, 55 RBIs and 57 runs scored in 104 games this season. He appeared in all 162 games for the Braves n 2018.
