LG's 2021 Soundbars with Dolby Atmos and DTS:X rolling out worldwide

The 2021 LG Soundbars - SP11RA, SP9YA and SP8YA - are compatible with Google Assistant, Amazon Alexa and Siri voice assistants, allowing users to control devices and play their favorite music from compatible device and services. Additionally, Apple users can stream, control, and share their favorite music and other content directly from their devices using Apple AirPlay 2.

The 2021 LG Soundbar lineup featuring eco-consciousness designs, Dolby Atmos and DTS:X support is rolling out globally, the company said on Tuesday.

Starting this month, the new LG Soundbars - SP11RA, SP9YA, SP8YA, SP7Y and SPD7Y - will begin rolling out in key markets in Europe and North America. Additional models will also be coming later this year.

The new lineup of LG Soundbar allows users to Audio from LG TV via TV Sound Mode Share, delivering the superior audio processing power of AI Sound Pro on the more capable speakers. The AI Sound Pro feature uses adaptive sound control to automatically adjust frequency range and sound field extension while AI Room Calibration uses spatial awareness technology to measure a room's dimensions then customizing the soundbar's audio settings to deliver optimal sound in any environment.

Many of the new LG soundbar models come with Meridian Audio tuning and Meridian technology (Music Mode) that up-mixes two channel stereo content into immersive, multi-channel audio to provide audiences with a truly immersive listening experience regardless of their location in the room.

The 2021 LG Soundbars support Dolby Atmos and DTS:X for 3D audio and Dolby Vision compatibility via 4K pass-through. With Hi-Res Audio certification, many models in the lineup ensure lossless playback at 24bit/96kHz. On the connectivity front, the new soundbars support HDMI eARC, USB playback and Bluetooth streaming.

According to LG, the 2021 soundbars are the first audio products in the industry to receive Eco Product certification from Switzerland-based Societe Generale de Surveillance (SGS) for reducing environmental impact.

"In its effort toward a sustainable future, LG is taking a more eco-minded approach to product development, packaging and shipping of its 2021 soundbars, designing the first audio products in the industry to receive SGS Eco Product Certification. For many soundbar model cases LG replaced materials used in previous models with recycled materials, one model featuring jersey fabric made of recycled PET bottles," the company said in a statement.
