Google doodle celebrates Google's 20th Birthday

Twenty Years ago two PhD student from Stanford University launched a new search engine with an aim to organise the world's Information and make it accessible and useful. Today Google doodle celebrates Google's 20th Birthday

Larry Page and Sergey Brin, initially nicknamed the new search engine as "BackRub" because the system checked backlinks to estimate the importance of a site. Later on, the name Google which was originated from a misspelling of the word "googol" was given to the search engine.

The domain name for Google was registered on September 15, 1997, and the company was incorporated on September 4, 1998.
