China says industrial development facing severe external environment because of U.S. suppression

China's industrial and information development is facing a more severe and complex external environment because of escalating U.S. suppression of the nation's advanced manufacturing industry, China's industry minister said on Thursday.

China will accelerate research and development of key technologies, Jin Zhuanglong, minister of Industry and Information Technology, wrote in an article published in Communist Party journal Qiushi.
