Nokia Bell Labs and Aramco partner to develop advanced Industry 4.0/4IR digital use cases

Nokia Bell Labs, the research of Nokia, has announced a collaboration with Saudi Arabia's Aramco to support Industry 4.0/4IR digital use-case creation and validate proof of concept solutions for various industrial sectors in the country and beyond.

The non-binding R&D collaboration agreement is aimed at accelerating digital transformation within the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, the Middle East, and North Africa (MENA) region and globally. By leveraging cutting-edge research and technologies from both companies, the collaboration aims to advance digital use cases for a diverse range of industries, including oil and gas, utilities, mining, manufacturing and logistics.

Commenting on this partnership, Thierry E. In a press release, Nokia said that the companies are expected to collaborate on R&D efforts, develop joint proof-of-concept solutions, and validate technologies in real-world deployments in order to expand enterprise industrial automation applications.

In addition, the partnership will focus on fostering a comprehensive ecosystem for 5G and emerging technologies to integrate cutting-edge technologies that will help shape the future of industrial sectors.
