Scindia's 4G Expansion and Green Initiatives Gain Momentum

Union Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that mobile phone penetration in India has reached 70-80 percent, with around 120 crore devices currently in use.

Scindia emphasized the importance of expanding the 4G network using indigenous technology to achieve 100 percent coverage. He also shared his plans to visit Assam and Meghalaya to discuss development strategies for the North Eastern Region with state governments.

Addressing a related query, Scindia stated that decisions about ethnic strife in Manipur would be addressed through responsible development efforts. He reiterated that 10 percent of the Gross Budgetary Support from Union departments would be allocated to the development of the North East states.

Scindia was in Indore to participate in the 'Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign, which aims to plant saplings across the nation as part of a climate change initiative.
