U.S. and Australia to Strengthen Alliance in Upcoming AUSMIN Dialogue

The foreign and defense ministers of the United States and Australia will convene on August 6 in Annapolis, Maryland, as part of the annual Australia-U.S. Ministerial (AUSMIN) dialogue, according to the U.S. Embassy in Canberra.

U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken and Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin will meet with their Australian counterparts, Penny Wong and Richard Marles, to strengthen cooperation on a wide array of global and regional issues. The dialogue aims to deepen the U.S.-Australia alliance.

Washington and Canberra, close allies, have notably collaborated on counterbalancing China's growing influence in the Pacific region. At the previous AUSMIN meeting in Queensland, the two nations agreed to assist Australia in producing guided multiple-launch rocket systems by 2025.
